About Me

I fell in love with estuarine systems after spending my college summers studying the Chincoteague Bay system at the Wallops Island Marine Science Consortium in Virginia.  I moved to Corpus Christi, TX, in 2013 to continue to build on that passion for estuarine science in a different coastal setting.

I intend to pursue a career that maintains close ties to science communication. I have always had a love for sharing knowledge, whether it be with other scientists, with students who are aspiring scientists, policy makers, or with the community. I have been developing these skills in my roles as instructor of record for several undergraduate-level courses, as co-founder and managing editor of Third Coast Science For You, and as an Intern for the Ocean Conservancy where I will be communicating with congressional offices about ocean acidification.

Outside of the world of science, my favorite ways to pass time are quality time with my dogs (Apple and Pepe), traveling, tennis, baking, and painting.
